With a shortened week of games due to the 2011 NHL All Star Game in Carolina, the stats were a little low this week. Eric Staal led the forwards with 4 points through 2 games, he is really starting to heat up this season. With 52 points this season, he is on pace to have another outstanding fantasy season.

Keith Yandle is now the league leader for scoring by a defenceman. With 4 points this week he now has 44 points in 51 games. Yandle is riding a 9 game scoring streak in which he's scored 14 points (2 goals, 12 assists). Yandle already has a career high in points, as well as powerplay points, and remains a consistent scorer on any fantasy owner's blueline.

Jonathan Quick was solid in his two games this week; winning both and posting a shutout. Quick has been slumping lately only getting 1 win from December 29 to January 20th, earning him a nice benching on fantasy rosters. Regardless of that stretch, Quick is still on pace for a career year with his goaltending stats.

Guys To Watch This Week

Forwards
In the West going to stick with my boy Henrik Sedin. The Canucks have 3 games this week against DAL, PHX and CHI. If you feel like taking a chance - go with Joe Thornton, who should be well rested after having the All Star break off. In the East going to play it safe with Steven Stamkos who has 3 games this week. I want to take a chance on Crosby who has 4 games this week, but don’t think he will be back until the weekend.

Defence

Keith Yandle is on fire the last month and I am going to stay with him for my D pick in the West. The Yotes have 3 games against SJ, VAN and MIN. In the East going to go with Kris Letang who has 4 games this week against NYR, NYI, BUF and WSH.

Goalies

In the West going to go with Jon Quick, the Kings have 3 games this week against MIN, EDM and CGY. In the East going to ride Carey Price, the Habs have 4 games this week against WSH, FLA, NYR, NJ.
