Every Friday we will be adding one of our favourite hockey videos from over the years. Some might be painful, some might be just plain dirty, but they all have a story behind them that make them downright awesome and great to watch over and over again.
|You Can't Touch a Flame When It's Red Hot!|
The recent surge by the Calgary Flames as they roll on their 6 game winning streak has brought many commentators to say they are "Red Hot". This saying instantly reminds me of the Calgary Flames video from the summer of 1987 titled of course - Red Hot. Made after the 1986-1987 season, the video was released to benefit charity. The music video features many notable players: Lanny McDonald (and moustache), Mike Vernon, Joel Otto, Brett Hull, Al MacInnis, Tim Hunter (and nose) and a young Gary Roberts. The video featured players lipsynching and pretending to play instruments proved to be very popular, even being released on VHS and vinyl. The video is hilarious to watch, and we wonder if the Flames success is linked to them putting this song on before their games.
What NHL team would you like to see make a music video?
