Up until the NHL season officially starts, many will be participating in fantasy hockey drafts. With the injury ninja in full force last season there are no doubt more than a few questions to be raised about some of the players you might want to draft for the season. We'll profile some of the Question Marks leading up to the start of the NHL season to help you out.
|Will you gamble on Jaromir Jagr this season?|
Jagr was an almost point-per-game player in the KHL scoring 145 points in 155 games, but how does that translate to NHL terms? Last year he placed 8th in scoring, and tied for 5th in tournament scoring at the recent 2011 IIHF World Championships. This tells you he can still play competitive hockey, but don't expect him to put up the numbers he used to in the NHL.
Injuries have not been a problem for Jagr in recent years has he has not missed any significant time, but who knows how his body will handle the faster and tougher NHL. We saw him get drilled at the Olympics by Alex Ovechkin, so it'll be interesting to see how his body handles this season.
With all this in mind, it's not that far off to say Jagr won't throw up 60 points this season. His hands are still there, and depending on who is he lined up with he could be a very effective playmaker and a definite asset on the powerplay. Jagr could go anywhere mid-draft because of his name and if he heats up for you all the other GM's will be wishing they had the Moves Like Jagr.
