Will You See "Goon"?

Recently came across this trailer for Goon:

The film is written by some pretty funny guys in Jay Baruchel and Evan Goldberg, and they insist it has a hard R rating. Goon will be one of the latest hockey flicks in the past few years, and given the most recent failures our expectations will be low. I never saw The Love Guru, and I'm told I'm very lucky for that, but I had a good laugh when I read some reviews of it.
Goon isn't the first movie to feature a hockey tough guy as the main character as you can't forget about Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in The Tooth Fairy. I saw a bit of this movie on TMN, but it was so brutal I changed the channel faster than the Ottawa Senators change coaches.

Goon will be no Slapshot or Youngblood, but from the trailer alone, I'd probably see it. Will you?

  1. Looks like it has potential... will be funny, but I can't see it being a hockey classic like Youngblood

  2. If you can't see the video above ("not available in your Country") try (worked in the US)

and yeah, I'll totally go see it :-)

  3. Thank you for the extra link deirdrebeth!

  4. I will give it a shot. I just won't hype it up in my head that it will be good. I was stoked to see that Mike Myers movie and it was an hour and a half of my life that I will never get back.

  5. I saw this at TIFF. Bloody brilliant. It's nothing like some of those hockey-wannabe films; it's got a good plot, lots of hockey, and great acting.

Would recommend it to ANY hockey fan.
