Remember
Jonathan Cheechoo? Well the
former Rocket Richard Trophy winner with 56 goals and idol to
this guy is currently tied for the goal scoring lead in the KHL. The last time we wrote about Cheechoo
we asked why his train fell off the tracks. He was playing in the AHL with the Worcester Sharks and we wondered if he'd ever get the chance to prove himself in the NHL again. Well despite a few NHL camp invites and putting up average numbers in the AHL with Peoria and Oklahoma City, Cheechoo decided to go the KHL to play for the new Croatian team in the league, Zagreb Medvescak.
The change of scenery has apparently worked as Cheechoo is
potting goals like he did in 2005-06 and sits 1st in goal scoring with 2010 Russian Olympian, Danis Zaripov:
Sure it's the KHL, but it's nice to see Cheechoo doing well again at hockey and finishing beauty goals like this tic-tac-toe:
The missing piece of the Heater trade..lol
