He's all jankity-janked and must have had a few pops with the fans behind the camera as they're focused on him. The poor guy looks like he can barely stand up, but he does look like Dominik Hasek as he makes a routine stop and falls down in the process. There's more though as he backs up into his net only to fall down and later concedes a goal while falling into the net attempting a pokecheck. It's a beer league team's nightmare to have their goalie no-show, but one showing up this sauced is just as bad.

Looking At The 2014 Finnish Olympic Team
As team rosters for the 2014 Sochi Olympics are announced we'll break down the rosters for the top competitors in the tournament and list some of the notable omissions from their squads.

Finland is actually the most successful country in terms of medals won at Olympic ice hockey since the NHL has been sending players in 1998. With a bronze in '98, a silver in '06, and another bronze in 2010, Finland's the only team that can say they've won 3 medals in 4 Olympics although they haven't been the colour they're looking for. While they never have the strongest team on paper going into tournaments, you can never underestimate Finland in hockey because all they do is compete.

Looking At The 2014 Swedish Olympic Team
As team rosters for the 2014 Sochi Olympics are announced we'll break down the rosters for the top competitors in the tournament and list some of the notable omissions from their squads.
The Swede's disappointed in 2010 after bowing out in the quarterfinals to Slovakia and Olympic redemption will be on their minds heading to Sochi. Sweden's had great success in recent years with a bronze, silver, and gold medal since the 2010 Olympics at the IIHF World Hockey Championships and have also been developing players with winning tradition at the World Junior Hockey Championships having reached the gold medal game for three straight years. Sweden's very talented all around, but their biggest concerns might be in net with the play of Henrik Lundqvist in the NHL this year. Aside from that, Sweden looks great on paper and should be medal contenders come February.

Brayden Schenn Off To An Early Start As Badass Of The Year
Naturally, hockey players are tough guys having to play the fastest game on earth on the hardest surface in the world with knifes on their feet. So it shouldn't come as a surprise that Brayden Schenn was sliced in the abdomen last night after hitting Dainius Zubrus and stayed in the game.
Ouch. A nice four inch slice in the abs had to have stung and it was a good thing he was able to stay in the game as he would go on to score the OT winner for the Flyers:

"Yay, we made it!" |
Selecting the Team Canada Dream Team is a lot more difficult than you might think and Steve Yzerman and Co. definitely faced some tough decisions picking the Sochi 2014 team. There were plenty of locks for the team, but with the number of bubble players who made it/didn't make it there has been a national debate which should last until the Olympics are over. Ultimately, Canada has a team that will score plenty of goals and should have no trouble preventing them as well.

HBO 24/7: Leafs-Red Wings Episode 4 Recap
HBO's 24/7 Red Wings-Maple Leafs: Road to the NHL Winter Classic airs Saturdays at
10pm on HBO in the US or on most illegal streaming sites in Canada. It also airs Sundays
on Sportsnet in Canada at 7:30pm with censors and commercials for some reason.
The finale to HBO's 24/7 Red Wings-Maple Leafs: Road to the NHL Winter Classic was by far the best of the season which really wasn't that hard to accomplish based on the previous three episodes. With plenty of spectacular footage from the Winter Classic, there was also more off-ice footage than previous episodes and less in-game filler of both teams losing to the Florida Panthers. From start to finish, this episode captured the giddiness of the Winter Classic and all the joys surrounding the event for the players.2014 World Junior Hockey Pool Results

Looking At The 2014 US Olympic Team
As team rosters for the 2014 Sochi Olympics are announced we'll break down the rosters for the top competitors in the tournament and list some of the notable omissions from their squads.
David Poile and Team USA announced their roster for the 2014 Sochi Olympics following the Winter Classic today and while there were some notable omissions the team's core was pretty easy to predict. With plenty of offensive talent up front the US should have no trouble scoring goals, nor should they have any trouble stopping pucks with arguably the best goaltending on paper. The biggest surprises come on defence as a lot of new faces are set to patrol the US blueline in February.
