Fresh Batch Of NHLers Dangling As Peewees

There's a new batch of NHLers As Kids on YouTube and they put your houseleague highlights to shame. The videos of course are from The Brick Invitational Super Novice Hockey Tournament that takes place annually in Edmonton at the West Edmonton Wall. Some new videos released over the past month feature some of the new NHL young guns in the league and have you wishing you took more power skating classes as a kid.

Not quite the clapper that Kyle Turris had at age 9, but impressive nonetheless. It looks as if Johnson wins a big game for his squad given the bench clearing pile-on and fun to see the now NHL All-Star was ripping teams wearing Canadiens logos all the way back in 2000.

We saw young Johnny's nifty mittens as a 9-year-old a few months ago and now we're treated to a pretty breakaway deke. Love the slow-mo so that you can see his knee break to execute the deke as he pulls the puck right-to-left to beat the goalie.

Mark Stone made a name for himself at the 2012 World Juniors when he potted 7 goals and 10 points, but if you knew him when he was 11-years-old you wouldn't be surprised to see his goal scoring touch. A nice coast-to-coast goal with a beautiful deke at centre through a defenders legs before going top corner. What a beauty.

Fresh of a World Junior gold medal, Curtis Lazar, became a household name in Canada as the captain of the winning team. Back in '05 you would have known his name after flashing his speed and hands at The Brick tourney. Looks like he's always had that nose for the net.

Kevin Hayes of the New York Rangers scored one of the prettier goals we've seen on tape from this tournament in 2001 at age 9 with an a beautiful end-to-end rush. Great speed and finish by the youngster, but #99? Really?
